If you work or participate in projects, this handbook will give you a flying start. The book provides you with an essential range of terminology, models, skills and techniques that form a baseline package that will cover most of your daily project needs. Pretty much like a backpack containing essential items that come in handy on any hiking trip.
The handbook also provides valuable tips and tricks allowing you to avoid some common mistakes and pitfalls that others figured out the hard way. For the experienced project manager, The HYVES Handbook provides you with an innovative set of techniques and practical approaches, that goes beyond Agile and traditional management.
The book follows a top-down approach, starting with the concept of capability thinking, capability breakdown structures and the design canvas in chapter one. Capability thinking is then applied to determine the core capabilities of the organizations (chapter two). Project capability is broken down into strategic, tactical and operational project capability in chapters three, four and five, respectively. The remainder of the book covers operational level capability, to manage the projects:
